The new “A Series of Unfortunate Events” trailer is here and now we can think of nothing else
After much anticipation, a full-length trailer for the upcoming Netflix show A Series of Unfortunate Events has arrived and boy does it have all the charm and quirkiness of the books. The trailer introduces us to Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes), and Sunny Baudelaire as they meet their new guardian, Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris).
The trailer looks like EVERYTHING we could have ever wanted from the absurdist fiction series. The trailer also included appearances by Joan Cusack as Justice Strauss, Catherine O’Hara as Dr. Georgina Orwell, Alfre Woodard as Aunt Josephine, and Don Johnson as Sir, to round out the star-studded cast of the series.

Narrated by Lemony Snicket (Patrick Warburton), who “~wrote~” the books, the eight episode first season of the show will feature storylines from the first four books, The Bad Beginning, The Reptile Room, The Wide Window, and The Miserable Mill. Each of the first four books will be adapted into two episodes of the series.
Harris especially steals the show as Olaf as he makes his evil presence known and tries to thwart the Baudelaires attempts at escaping him using a series of ridiculous and clever disguises including Captain Sham, Detective Dupin, Stefano and Shirley.
The trailer captures the magic of the original series, as the Baudelaire kids, the only logical characters in the series, try and convince potential allies of Count Olaf’s nefarious ways. We absolutely cannot wait to see this clever series makes its way into our Netflix queues. We’ll reread the books to ease our excitement!
