YASS: ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ to stream on Netflix!

Here’s an early Christmas present from Netflix to all of us: the trusty streaming service is bringing A Series of Unfortunate Events to the site.

No, not the movie A Series of Unfortunate Events —which was actually unfortunately a hoax.  But actually, what Netflix is planning to do is reboot the entire story, and start it off again as a series. A series that will be completely bingeable and far from unfortunate for us.

This is not the first time we’ve heard about the new series. It was announced earlier this Fall, but not a whole lot of information was known about it. Actually, there’s still a whole lot we don’t know about it, and that’s basically everything. Two things are for certain, though: Barry Sonnenfeld (from Men In Black, Pushing Daisies, and The Addams Family) is set to direct, and Daniel Handler will serve as executive producer (FYI: Handler is the man behind the pen name, Lemony Snicket).

With production on the series slated to begin soon, it’s time to start the gigantic casting call for the young Violet and Klause Baudelaire. Want in on it? While the production is still shrouded in secrecy, if you are between the ages of 11-14 and 10-13 respectively, YOU might get to know all the info before we do. Because you’ll be cast as the next Violet or Klause (no, you can’t audition for Sunny).

Netflix has opened the casting call wide open for young tweens and pre-tweens, so if it’s always been your dream to star in an obsession-worthy show, this is your chance. The submission period goes from from right now to January 15th, so grab your video recorder and get to it. There’s absolutely nothing dark, drab, depressing, or unfortunate about it.
