Serena Williams is reportedly launching her own beauty line, because she can literally do anything
Serena Williams is the definition of life goals. She’s a constant source of inspiration, whether she’s winning the Australian Open while pregnant, making history on the cover of Vogue, or professing her love for tacos.
Now, it appears that she’s planning to add a new title to her list of multi-hyphenate accomplishments: beauty mogul. TMZ discovered that the superstar athlete filed legal documents to trademark “Aneres” (AKA Serena spelled backward) back in late January. She already had a trademark for this name, but it only applied to her clothing line.
According to The United States Patent and Trademark Office, the new trademark will apply to all kinds of cosmetics: lipgloss, eyeshadow, mascara, skin care, and pretty much everything else we love. (Also included: decorative backpack charms and brooches for clothing. Interesting.) It can also include hair products like shampoo, dry shampoo, and hairspray, along with makeup applicators like brushes and sponges.
Basically, there’s a whole slew of products she could be developing. But, since she has yet to comment on the news, we don’t know exactly what she’s planning. Will she go the makeup route à la Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty line? Or will she start off with skin care? Haircare? (TBH, we wouldn’t be surprised if she did it all at once — she’s proven time and time again that she can crush anything she sets her mind to.)
Oh, the possibilities! We have so many questions, and we need answers. We’re honestly shaking right now, this is so exciting. And to think, we were under the impression that it was going to be a woebegone Monday like any other.
