If you love makeup and the environment, Sephora has a mentorship program you might want to look into

Anyone who runs their own business knows it’s a lot of work, and often more work than one realized before jumping into the game. For boss ladies who run their own business, trying to get their ideas off the ground can face many challenges which is why we’re in love with this mentorship program by Sephora. The makeup brand has dedicated resources to help women beauty entrepreneurs get their ideas up and running and its genius.

Sephora Accelerate is a program launched by the major beauty company to offer much-needed support to women entrepreneurs who have an idea for a technology and sustainability related beauty business.

The program launched last year, offering support to 10 early-stage startups that are run by woman. Each business woman receives mentorships through enrollment in a bootcamp at Sephora’s San Francisco headquarters, $2,500 in seed money, and the opportunity to present their refined ideas at demo day where top venture capitalist and senior members of the Sephora team will be present.

“Even in the beauty industry, where most customers are women, female founders are still underrepresented. We see a unique opportunity to draw from our history of working with entrepreneurs to build a supportive community for early-stage female founders, Corrie Conrad, Head of Social Impact at Sephora, says on the Accelerate website.

The makeup company is offering the same opportunity this year and deadlines were just announced for this incredible opportunity this year. According to their website, the final day to send in your idea and application is January 31st and the selection criteria includes the social impact your idea will have, which is a great twist for sustainability and enviro-friendly ideas.

The program is available to any technology and sustainability beauty business that’s founded or co-founded by a woman in the United States, Canada, Mexico or Brazil and we’re rooting for all of you!
