Selena Quintanilla is finally going to get her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

If you’re a fan of Selena Quintanilla, you’ve probably been on pins and needles waiting for the #MACSelena collection to drop this fall. Now, there’s another reason to get excited. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced which celebs will be honored with their own stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year and Selena is among the list!

By the time of her murder in March 1995, Selena had released four albums, won a Grammy, and opened two clothing boutiques. She had planned to cross over to the English-language music scene with her final album, Dreaming of You. 21 years after her death, Selena’s fans are as passionate about the singer as they were back then — this was proven by the successful MAC Cosmetics campaign. This news will no doubt be another reason to celebrate the beloved Tejana songstress.

Chris Perez, Selena’s husband, also mentioned the honor in a Facebook post. “I’d like to give a very special THANK YOU to all of you Selena fans out there for pushing for this to happen,” he wrote. “She’s getting her star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame! We found out yesterday but I didn’t want to post about it until I was 1000% sure. Simply AMAZING!!! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, thank you guys…for keeping her memory and her legacy alive.”

The 2017 Walk of Fame list also includes Goldie Hawn, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, John Legend, NSYNC, Chris Pratt, Mark Ruffalo, Sarah Silverman, Ice Cube, Tyra Banks, Amy Adams, and Ryan Reynolds.
