Selena Gomez’s intricate nail art for her “Vogue” cover belongs in a museum

While the world is busy collecting their jaws from the floor after seeing Selena Gomez’s ~flawless~ Vogue cover, there’s one extra-special detail from her cover shoot that has got us even more enthralled: her perfect-beyond-perfect bandana nail art!

Crafted by celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik, Selena’s white-and-red bandana nails are really more a work of actual art than mere nail art. Just look at those meticulously quaffed talons; they’re absolutely spectacular. From the bold crimson shade to the intricate detail of the zig-zags, lines, dots and other shapes, this high-fashion manicure epitomizes what it is to be vogue.

Given how seamlessly Selena’s nails match with her edgy black-and-red look (not to mention those badass gloves), we might’ve overlooked the genius that is this manicure, had Tom not pointed it out for us with his gorgeous closeup.

Oh, and you best believe this Western-inspired look is going to be the hottest trend du jour in nail art this spring (or more accurately, at Coachella). The bandana trend has been a thing for a while now, so it’s only natural the street style trend would traverse into beauty and nails territory.

We wouldn’t be surprised if this wasn’t the first nail art trend Tom’s kicked off, as a matter of fact. He’s got an arsenal of other A-list clients known for setting trends in the beauty world, including Jennifer Lopez, Scarlett Johansson, Heidi Klum and Gwyneth Paltrow.

But okay, back to our go-to gal, Selena. We cannot wait until this beauty’s April cover issue hits stands on March 28, partly because we want to read her full-length interview, and partly because we want to see more of these museum-worthy nails!
