Selena Gomez will make you want to try the western-inspired trend for fall 2017
It’s a wild world out there and we’re just trying to get by. That’s why we love the western trend that’s been hitting streets and runways at full force. Because nothing screams “capable” like a western shirt and a wild attitude. Taking a cue from Coach 1941, whose spring 2018 runway show was full of western motifs and metallic accents, we’re inspired to update our autumn aesthetic with a modern take on cowboy flair. We’re also taking a cue from Coach spokeswoman Selena Gomez, whose urban cowgirl look at the Coach runway show is giving us major east-meets-west vibes.
While a T-shirt and jeans may not sound like the most appropriate fashion week attire, of course Selena finds a way to make the look oh so chic.
By pairing a simple black top with a vintage and western-inspired brown leather jacket, and a matching belt, Selena already turns up the heat with this understated look. But the real hero piece of this outfit has to be the jeans.
With distressed and patched-up pockets that feature plenty of flair, these jeans are far from basic. Add in a decorative seam and flared leg, and you have the perfect jeans to spice up a plain tee à la Selena Gomez. To channel the singer even more, all you have to do is add in some platform boots with a patent finish and a simple contrasting leather bag.
Give your hair some loose curls and embody a “take no prisoners” attitude to be the coolest urban cowgirl around.
