Selena Gomez just said a lot of super-interesting things about her love life
Recently, the rumor mill has been abuzz over Selena Gomez. . . specifically, in the love department. After all, though she and Justin Bieber had an on-again, off-again relationship from 2010 to 2014, it looked like this week it *might* be on again after the two were seen together. . . and a video was taken of Biebs serenading Selena with “My Girl.”
“They were honestly mesmerizing to watch slow dance,” photographer Lindsey Cavanaugh, who took the videos, told E!. “My business partner gave him the thumbs up and he gave it back to her and laughed, then dipped Selena all the way to the floor. Shortly after that, she sat on the table and he somehow started singing ‘My Girl.’ She was smiling and in that moment, didn’t look like Selena Gomez, rather a girl at a bar being doted on by her first love.”
D’awwww. So that’s why we couldn’t help but be totally interested in what Selena had to say about her love life in her January 2016 cover issue for Instyle UK. . . although when it came to talking about Justin, she was pretty hush-hush. “It’s really hard because I’m a nice person,” she explained to Instyle. “I’m just tired of talking about it. I never intended for my life to become a tabloid story.”
Totally fair; we’d be exhausted re: this topic if we were her, too. But there have also been rumors about the pop star dating Zayn Malik — unfounded, she says, but she certainly seemed to enjoy the idea (as would we!). “If he had asked me out on a date, I would be seen with him,” she told Instyle with a “sly smile.” “Just kidding, but not kidding.”
Gomez is now dating, but she “hates it,” she explained. “It’s hard and I’m weirded out by the idea that a guy has Googled me before we meet, and that has happened,” she told Instyle.
It’s also been a challenge for her because of her appearance. The 23-year-old is obviously very mature for her age, but thinks she looks younger than she actually is. “I feel like I look 16 sometimes, which is a bummer because I would love to date older guys,” she explained.
Though dating can be tricky, she’s certainly got the support of her besties — specifically, Taylor Swift and the squad. But it’s not what you think, she says. “People have this fantasy that we’re in our underwear, having pillow fights,” she told the mag. “We just play good music — sometimes live — and eat, and hang out.”
Sounds like a good life to us. And how about T-Swift’s role when it comes to matters of Selena’s heart? The two set each other straight and keep each other feeling confident. “I’ll be like, ‘I think I totally screwed up,’ but Taylor says, ‘Actually, you didn’t’ and shows me how to make my mistakes into something great,” she told Instyle.
