Selena Gomez has something to say about those lip-syncing accusations
Tuesday night was the heavily-anticipated televised Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and as always, the lingerie company pulled out ALL the stops. The models in the show were so famous that we knew many by name, and the musical guests rocked it: The Weeknd, Ellie Goulding, Selena Gomez, all of them were great. But Selena’s performance caused a little bit of unexpected controversy.
Selena wasn’t the first musical artist on stage, but her performances were pretty memorable. While she crooned her heart out, performing several hits off of her album Revival — including “Hands to Myself” and “Me & My Girls” — VS angels strutted by in fantasy-themed get ups. Honestly, Selena rocked it and brought her serious performance chops onto that catwalk.
However, some viewers weren’t so enthusiastic about Selena’s performance, claiming she wasn’t actually singing live and instead lip-synced the entire thing. Selena wasn’t having it. As fan account GomezUpdates pointed out in an Instagram post, Selena commented on one of Victoria’s Secrets’ Instagram posts in response to her doubters, shutting them down in just five short words: “Yes I f*cking sing live.”
Well, that settles that. Stars deal with so many ridiculous rumors and haters on the regular; sometimes you’ve just got to nip that negativity in the bud ASAP. Besides, Selena’s got enough on her plate as it is, girlfriend does not have time to let those haters bring her down. So what does she do? She hits them with a truth bomb.
