Selena Gomez channeled ’90s Jennifer Aniston with this perfect summer outfit
Selena Gomez was spotted grabbing lunch in Los Angeles over Memorial Day weekend, which is notable (for us) because she looked exactly like a ’90s-era Jennifer Aniston. Seriously, this look is picture perfect. (See what we did there?)
According to ET Online, Gomez enjoyed a casual lunch with pals at Tortino’s in Downtown L.A. on Sunday, May 26th. And while the “Back to You” singer is no stranger to rocking ’90s trends, her updated version of one of Aniston’s most beloved ’90s outfits was so spot-on, we did a double take.
It seems Gomez was inspired by Aniston’s fashion from the 1997 rom-com Picture Perfect. In the film, the Friends star plays an N.Y.C. woman struggling to find career success and love when it seems like everyone else around her has it all figured out. Gomez paid homage to her real-life pal by copying one of the outfits she wore on set, because, yes, ’90s fashion is here to stay.

Back in the day, she rocked a black spaghetti strap dress over a white tee—the perfect ’90s ensemble. She topped off the look with pigtail braids, a backward black baseball cap, and black wire-frame shades.
Gomez’s friend Connar Franklin took to Instagram Stories to post a side-by-side photo of the two looks.
Gomez updated Aniston’s look slightly by rocking a wide-leg pantsuit instead of a dress. Both of them are serving summer style inspo in spades.
The two are close in real life, and Gomez says Aniston inspired her career as a comedic actress.
Their friendship makes this style statement all the more sweet. Now we just need these two to star in a rom-com together. Hollywood, can you hear us?
