How many Grammys does Selena Gomez have? Fans aren’t pleased with the answer

Update, January 23rd, 2020, 5:30 p.m. ET: The 62nd annual Grammy Awards will air on Sunday, January 26th on CBS at 5:00 p.m. PT. The 2020 Grammy Awards will be hosted by Alicia Keys at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. Selena Gomez isn’t up for any Grammys nominations this year—her new album Rare and the its two singles were released after the eligibility period ended, so we have our fingers crossed for 2021.

The 2018 Grammy nominations may have been announced back in November, but some of us are still feeling upset over the artists who got snubbed. Sure, we can’t wait to see who will be bringing home the night’s biggest honors, but still…it’s hard to forget about the artists who didn’t get the recognition they deserved. For many fans, one of these artists is Selena Gomez, who didn’t receive any nods for her work this past year. The Grammys snub has led many to wonder how many Grammys Gomez has won before this year.

Unfortunately, the answer to that isn’t any more satisfying. Gomez hasn’t won any Grammys or been nominated for any Grammys over the course of her career.

While it’s true that Gomez did not release an album in 2017, she did have a slew of successful singles. “It Ain’t Me” was one of the top songs of 2017. And, come on—you can’t pretend you didn’t listen to “Bad Liar” on repeat. Not only that, but she was one of the most streamed female artists of 2017.

Fans believe Gomez deserved something, and they aren’t pleased that she has yet to be noticed by the Recording Academy.

Gomez wasn’t the only one snubbed by the Academy. Some people were also unhappy to see that Demi Lovato, Selena’s longtime friend, didn’t receive any nominations either.

The good news? Gomez is sure to bounce back. She has already won a slew of awards over the course of career, from the Teen Choice Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, People’s Choice Awards, and more. Her last few singles have been consistent hits, and it looks like she’s going to continue to put new music out there (fingers are crossed for a new album soon). Gomez isn’t going anywhere any time soon, and we’re sure that sooner or later the Academy will recognize her work as a performer.

Until then, we’ll just continue singing along to “Wolves.”
