Selena Gomez and the Grey’s Anatomy cast attended a prom for teens battling cancer
With prom season in full swing, teens all over the country are getting dressed up in their formal wear for a night of dancing, selfies, and lifelong memories. One special group of California teens had an especially meaningful, star-studded prom night…and the photos will make you cry happy tears.
On Saturday, June 23rd, teens battling cancer at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County in Orange, California, celebrated the 17th annual Oncology Prom, where oncology patients past and present danced the night away at the “Around the World in One Night”-themed prom. But this was no ordinary party, because these cancer warriors were joined by a slew of celebs on the dance floor, including Selena Gomez, Jack Black, and the cast of Grey’s Anatomy.
Of the event, a hospital spokesperson told the Today show, “Though attending a traditional prom is not always possible for teens battling long-time, life-threatening illnesses, CHOC ensures patients don’t miss a chance to dance, celebrate their journeys and feel beautiful.” And it certainly seemed like an unforgettable evening, with the teens rocking prom outfits by BCBG, Alice & Olivia, and Converse, smiling for photos with famous guests, and busting out some serious dance moves.
Gomez joined a new pal in the photo booth before posing for photos galore with attendees, and the vibrant smiles all around are beautiful.
Several cast members from Grey’s Anatomy also joined in on the fun, including Sarah Drew, Kevin McKidd, Caterina Scorsone, and James Pickens, Jr.

And since it wouldn’t be prom night without silly dancing, Black showed up to teach the kids all the “latest” moves.
He also posed for photos — and again, all these beaming smiles are hitting us right in the feels.
