Selena Gomez Fans Are Shocked She Omitted This Person From Her Documentary

The singer, actress, and star of the new documentary, "My Mind and Me," is getting heat after name dropping one bestie only.

Selena Gomez is already dealing with backlash just a few days after releasing her new documentary, My Mind and Me. The film explores various points in the singer’s life over a six-year period, offering viewers a raw perspective of the singer and actress’s personal challenges, including details of health issues that led to a kidney transplant in 2017.

That very procedure is now causing a stir as the donor, actress Francia Raisa, recently reacted to commentary Gomez provided in an interview for Rolling Stone.

“I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities,” Gomez admits in the interview. “My only friend in the industry really is Taylor, so I remember feeling like I didn’t belong.”

The Taylor mentioned is, of course, miss Taylor Swift — queen of the original squad which Gomez has been linked to in the past. Swift has also built up a huge media campaign on social media for the release of her newest album Midnights, which Gomez has openly supported.

Swift also recently congratulated Gomez on the premiere of her Apple TV+ documentary, writing on Instagram: “So proud of you @selenagomez Love you forever.”

Raisa however, who was not mentioned in the documentary, is feeling the opposite of support after the Rolling Stone quote went viral.

“Interesting” the Grown-ish actress left as a comment on a post from E! News, which designed the controversial quote overlayed on a photo of Swift and Gomez.

Fans and more were quick to react themselves, wondering how Gomez could be so ungrateful for someone who helped her in a difficult period of her life. Many also noticed that Raisa had unfollowed Gomez on Instagram.

Both have been open about the challenges that came post-operation. According to The Daily Mail, the 10-year friendship has seen a few fallouts. Things between the two “sisters” seemed to be reconciled when Raisa was seen at Selena’s 30th birthday party in July, and in subsequent TikTok videos starring the pair.

So was it a true snub from the Only Murders in the Building star? Gomez has since responded, leaving a comment on a TikTok video posted by Stephanie Tleiji (@stephwithdadeets) explaining the perceived drama:

“Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.”

Replying to @Selena Gomez The fact that I am replying to Selena Gomez is pretty unreal. Thank you for taking the time to watch & comment on my video. You are a real one. ❤️ 🤯 ❤️ #pinchme #selenagomez #stephwithdadeets #greenscreen

Some speculate the Swift mention was based on those in the music industry only. Raisa is more active in the acting industry, with roles in Bring It On: All or Nothing and The Secret Life of the American Teenager — so perhaps Gomez’s words are being over-analyzed.

Raisa has yet to comment about her former bestie’s recent addition. Time will tell if the two remain friends or make up. But for now, Gomez isn’t offering further clarification on the subject.
