Selena Gomez says she wants to be on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and what a great idea
Wizards of Waverly Place alum Selena Gomez is ready to revive her acting chops with a cameo in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. In a recent Extra TV interview alongside Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation co-star Andy Samberg, Selena said this could “potentially” happen. And we are here for it.
As we all know, Samberg leads the comedy cop ensemble as Detective Jake Peralta of Brooklyn’s 99th precinct in New York. In May, Fox abruptly canceled Brooklyn Nine-Nine after five seasons. Fans reacted to the cancellation with fire and fury, and a day later, the series was picked up for a 13-episode sixth season by NBC. Following the news, series creators and Parks and Recreation alums Michael Schur and Dan Goor took to Twitter to celebrate.
This happened because the fans of the show went berzerk. We can't thank you — or @NBC — enough. #Brooklyn99

With the comedy series set to return, Selena is totally keen on joining the all-star cast.
In the Extra TV interview, the “Fetish” singer tells host Renee Bargh: “I offered. It’ll be fun.” Samberg added: “She offered. We’re gonna ask.” And honestly, who could turn down Selena Gomez? She’s certainly no stranger to the silver screen. Gomez served as the executive producer of the Netflix breakout series 13 Reasons Why, based on the novel by Jay Asher. The “Wolves” singer also released a new video for her song “Back to You” in June. Oh, and let’s not forget that short on Instagram’s IGTV with Petra Collins called “A Love Story.”
Selena and Andy’s upcoming film Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation hits theaters July 13th. In the meantime, we’ll be anxiously awaiting Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s return and pondering potential characters for Selena. The possibilities are endless.
