Selena Gomez wore a sheer dress to the Met Gala, looks like a glowing angel

Effortless as always, Selena Gomez showed up to the 2018 Met Gala on May 7th in a sheer dress, and this, ladies and gents, is a vision. The white, spaghetti-strap gown, custom designed by Coach, featured tiers of jeweled ruffles and a see-through skirt. We’re getting definite early 2000s prom-dress vibes, and we’re into it.
The singer, who has long been a face of Coach and has even designed collections for the brand, donned a pair of silver, two-strap sandals and eyelids full of glittering, gold flakes that served us a gilded Italian statue effect.
She paired the flowing gown with a simple cross necklace, a nod to the event’s theme — “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” — and a pair of diamond earrings.
Earlier in the day, Coach shared a sketch of the gown, complete with some of the rhinestones, lace, and tulle that ended up on Gomez’s dress.
We were also #blessed with this stunning snap of Gomez getting ready for the Met Gala, glowing in front of a window.
The annual Met Gala, hosted by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, takes place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and celebrates achievements in and contributions to fashion with its annual theme.
This year’s theme highlights the ways Catholic vestments have influenced modern fashion, and stars like Cardi B, Rihanna, and Amal Clooney embraced it wholeheartedly. While Gomez took a more subdued approach, we still think she looks positively angelic.
