‘The Secret Life of Pets’ trailer makes us want to hug every pet everywhere

If you like to dress up your pet and parade them around in adorable holiday gear so you can snap a photo for your holiday card, you need to see this new The Secret Life of Pets trailer. I mean, even if you don’t do that, you still need to see it, but it’s especially pertinent if you’re in the “dressing my pet up for the holidays is the best” camp.

The Secret Life of Pets, a new movie coming soon from the humans who brought us Despicable Me, promises to be exactly what the title implies: A look into what our pets are really doing when we’re not around or just not looking. In honor of the holidays, the filmmakers released this very hilarious, very adorable new trailer, which features all of the main pets from the movie getting their pictures taken for (presumably) holiday cards.

The pets are decked out in adorable holiday gear and surrounded by seasonal props, but their individual personalities are what shine through. Max looks adorable in a sweater, but he’s bummed to be away from his owner, even for the short time it takes to snap a picture. Buddy, an adorable Dachshund, takes chasing his own tail to a new level. Chloe the cat is having none of it (typical cat). Gidget can barely stay in the frame, she has so much energy. Snowball the bunny eats his gingerbread props and goes on a sugar-fueled rampage. Duke doesn’t seem to understand he’s in a photo studio, not a real Christmas tree forest.  Mel has no chill. This is a group of characters that I, for one, cannot wait to get to know better.  Check out the perfection of the Secret Life of Pets holiday greetings trailer for yourself.

In love yet? We’ll have to wait until July 8, 2016 to see the full movie, but we’re sure there will be plenty more cool teasers before then. (Image via video.)
