Good news: The second wave of ‘Star Wars’ merchandise heavily features Rey

After the first round of merchandise from the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie was released, fans were asking one question: where’s Rey? The film’s female protagonist was notably absent from the shelves, and shoppers took to social media to call out toy companies on what looked like some blatant sexism.

Luckily, these companies seem to have heard us loud and clear, because this second wave of merchandise is filled with all of our favorite Rey goodies and action figures. Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive photos, but you can get a glimpse of some of the products below:

“This new wave of product has got key elements from the film. You see Rey with a saber, her blaster, and a number of other elements we wanted to hold back until the film had been released,” explains head of Lucasfilm licensing Paul Southern. “The timing is good to try to address some of the social discussion that has been created through the ‘Where’s Rey?’ movement.”

While this definitely shouldn’t have been a problem in the first place, we’re glad that companies are fixing their mistakes. Now hand over that lightsaber already!
