Freaking out over the first official trailer for season 2 of ‘Transparent’

If the first official trailer for Transparent Season 2 seems a tad dramatic, that’s the point. And it’s GREAT.

Coming off its Season 1 high — with a very impressive 5 Emmys, 2 Golden Globes, a GLADD Media Award, 2 Critic’s Choice Television Awards, and that’s only the tip of the iceberg — it’s safe to say that Transparent‘s next season is nothing short of highly anticipated. Even though they’ve now got a few trophies on their shelf, the Pfeffermans are still just as loving, caring and wonderful. Oh, and also highly dysfunctional. But then again, that makes them like every other family on the planet.

Just like Season 1, Season 2 will once again focus on the whole Pfeffermans clan as they try to figure out who they are and what they want out of life. Major props to Maura, who knows exactly what she wants. When asked if she plans on getting breasts, she answers “yes, two please.” However, she’s not sure if she’s ready for an actual gender reassignment surgery, so prepare for that to be one of the big arcs of Season 2.

There’s also a wedding, some drunken yelling, a widely misplaced “yes sir,” and Ali appears to be hanging out in an astronomy class. Is this one big happy mess? Can I get a rousing “yas queen”?
