Here’s everything we know so far about Season 2 of “Jessica Jones”

Ever since we learned that we were getting a second season of Jessica Jones, we’ve been fantasizing about what the second next of one of our favorite Marvel shows might hold.

Now, after several months, we’ve got some morsels from showrunner Melissa Rosenberg that hint at where Jessica, played by Krysten Ritter, and crew might be headed, and it’s making us even more excited. (If you haven’t watched Marvel’s Jessica Jones yet, now might be a good time to binge it, because there are some big season 1 spoilers ahead.)

According to Nerdist, one big part of season 2 will be Jessica dealing with her decision to kill Kilgrave. So much of the relationship between Jessica and Kilgrave was twisted — his power over her caused her to kill, and she suffered all kinds of abuse under him.

When she finally gained power over him after watching him destroy not only her life, but also the lives of so many people she cared about, it’s not surprising that she ended his life. However, Jessica was already in a pretty dark place, and suffering from PTSD. Since Kilgrave is the first person whose life she willingly took, there’s some likelihood that the choice is going to exacerbate those issues.

Rosenberg also told Nerdist that the second season will rely a bit less on Jessica’s presence in every scene. Now that some supporting characters are well established, this could make for some really interesting sub-plots. (Especially re: Trish. We want more Trish.)

Plus, we’ve got a couple comics characters- Nuke and Hellcat, specifically- potentially waiting in the wings for some screen time. Season 2 of Daredevil also hinted that we might be seeing some of Elden Henson’s “Foggy” Neslon in Jessica Jones — after all, he was hired by Jessica’s lawyer, Jeri Hogarth, late in the season.

While we’ll have to wait to see what Jessica Jones really has in store, we do know that we’ll be getting Luke Cage, starring Mike Colter, in September  — and we definitely can’t wait.
