It’s Scorpio season, so buckle up and get ready for sexier, moodier times ahead

The days are getting shorter and darker, Halloween is around the corner, and there’s a cryptic heaviness to the air. Yep, it’s Scorpio season, all right. From October 23rd to November 21st, the mysterious Scorpion rules the astrological roost. Ruled by the planet Pluto, the ancient god of the underworld and judge of the dead, Scorpio is in charge of all things connected to regeneration and transformation, including death and sex, as well as the occult. Just when you thought life couldn’t get any deeper or more intense (thanks, Venus Retrograde), think again.

If Libra season was all about seeking balance and harmony, Scorpio is all about rebirth. Scorpio is like your goth friend in high school. Its vibe is dark, moody, with a penchant for wearing black and carrying crystals and a talisman. Eccentric? Sure. But the true essence of a Scorpio is an independent soul who doesn’t need your approval. They’re quite content to be on their own so they can get lost in the activities that ignite their passion. Because, above everything, Scorpios are passionate AF.

Scorpios have a reputation for being all about sex and power, which aren’t exactly the worst things in the world to be associated with. However, like most things in life, it’s all in how you use the energy associated with entities, like sex and power, that makes all the difference. Scorpio’s openness with intimacy and sexuality will help us reconnect to the depths of our own that might’ve been swept aside or ignored for too long. We’re getting honest with what makes us tick, inside and outside of the bedroom. What makes us feel empowered? What shame do we still carry? What hang-ups do we have when it comes to asking for what we want in love and life in general? How can we see vulnerability as the super power that it is?

During this time, we’ll find that we crave connections that go well below the surface; superficiality and small talk just won’t do. We’ll desire those deep, heavy conversations that last for hours. The kind of conversations that really expose a person for who they are. Same goes for sex. Even casual flings won’t feel so casual under Scorpio’s rule.

After all, still waters run deep for this water sign. These enigmatic creatures feel so much all of the time. Don’t be surprised when emotions bubble up now; let them out. Journal them. Express them to a trusted friend. Follow them to where they might lead you. In fact, you must. Because Scorpios are so highly intuitive that any little “hunch” or gut instinct you experience right now is your intuition leading you to where you need to be—which is probably to a deeper expression of yourself.

Don’t be afraid to pursue the dark depths of your soul at this time. Scorpio rules the eighth house, the house of sex, taboos, death, and rebirth. While most people might want to flee from what lies here, don’t. It’s here where we find the keys to who we are on a soul level, including our existence and legacy. What do you want your legacy to look like, and what changes do you need to undergo to make that happen?

Embodying the sultriness of the Scorpion, you’ll also want to ask yourself: what do your deepest and most intimate desires look and feel like? Who are you when the lights go off? This isn’t a time for holding back. Scorpio beckons you to go all in and explore every sensory part of you. Experiment with scents, textures, touch, and sounds. Explore carnal pleasures, from pole-dancing to vibrators to sex-positive parties.

As a keen investigator, Scorpio doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned. They’re the type of people who actually like to work through their stuff with a fine-tooth comb, especially concerning things that they don’t understand. Because in doing so, they believe they will find a better understanding of themselves and the world around them. During these next four weeks, plunge into the depths of your soul with passionate curiosity so that you can cleanse what no longer works for you, and curate the desires and patterns that do.

From the ashes of what was, you’ll rise into the phoenix of who you’re meant to be.
