Scarlett Johansson will be a badass action hero yet again and we can’t wait
Scarlett Johansson has basically perfected the art of playing a badass action hero. She regularly kicks butt and takes names as Natasha Romanov AKA Black Widow in the Avengers franchise. Also, in 2014 she played the title role in Lucy, in which her character participates in a botched drug mule job and gains psychic superpowers in the process.
Scarlett Johansson straight up dominates in the action genre. So it’s no shock that she’s returned to the genre to play the leading lady in the forthcoming psychological thriller Tangerine.
We absolutely can’t wait to see her bust a move!
As Deadline reports, Tangerine is based on a soon-to-be-released debut novel by Christine Mangan. It tells the story of Alice Shipley (Scarlett Johansson), a woman living in 1950s Morocco whose fiancé dies tragically in the beginning of the story. In her grief, Alice severs ties with her college roommate. Years later, Alice reconnects with her old roommate. At the same time the new man in her life disappears. This leads Alice to suspect that her roommate played a sinister role in the disappearance of her two loves.
Oh man, this movie sounds bomb. We can’t wait to see it, and we’ll be there opening night. Join us in the front row with popcorn.
We love lady-driven psychological thriller book-to-film adaptations like Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train.
So we’re super excited to have Tangerine join the ranks. We can’t wait to perch on the edge of our seats of this one! We’re always down to see Johansson play the badass.
Oooh, last fun piece of news — George Clooney is producing! Yay, more star power!
We seriously can’t wait for this one! Hollywood, keep giving us these awesome lady-led psychological thrillers. It’s what the people want!
