Scarlett Johansson is sick of women not being able to talk about how much they like sex
Scarlett Johansson is not known for holding back. The sexy star has always been up front about her opinions on a variety of issues, and we love her for it. In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Scarlett Johansson discussed politics, social media, and sex. In particular, she opened up about one of her biggest pet peeves: Women not being allowed to discuss how much they enjoy sex without being labeled “a slut.” Per usual, the actress was blunt and to the point, and her attitude on sex positivity is kind of awesome.
“When women talk about enjoying sex, it’s almost forbidden,” Scarlett Johansson explained to Cosmopolitan.
“Just having a healthy sexual attitude, you are labeled as loose, wild, a slut. You have no morals, and you’re seen as some kind of sexual deviant or someone who can’t be in a monogamous relationship. The minute you talk about enjoying yourself, being curious, that is still taboo.”
We are totally on board with this healthy and sex-positive attitude, and only wish more people would embrace it. Scarlett Johansson also discussed how she feels about sharing her opinions on social media, and why she tries not to worry about all the haters out there.
“Whenever you speak publicly, it’s always a risk, right? Maybe you’ll lose some followers. But if you have something to say, it can be really impactful. I hope my daughter finds her voice and feels like she can engage anyone in any number of topics.
Scarlett Johansson went on to express her hopes that she’s raising her daughter Rose to be a strong, compassionate activist who isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Judging from the example she’s showing, we’d say ScarJo is off to a great start.
