Here’s a roundup of the best “Saturday night Live” election sketches, because Election Day is here

It’s finally here: Election Day 2016, and no matter what, this bonkers election cycle is finally almost over. While we’re super excited to see an end to the madness, we’re a little sad to see the end of the on-point SNL election sketches. If you’ve already voted, pat yourself on the back (Also, take advantage of the discounts you can get with your “I voted” sticker).

Anyway, to celebrate its end, we’ve got a roundup of some of the best SNL election sketches for the 2016 race. Watch them, laugh, and let your mind let go of some of that Election Day stress.

Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon’s last cold open before the 2016 election.

Alec Baldwin and Kate Mckinnon have been killing it as Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, respectively. In their last cold open sketch, the actors break character and comment upon how awful the election makes them feel. They run out into the street, and, in a pre-taped segment, have a glorious Times Square montage of unity. It’s a welcome relief from the apocalyptically scary election, and ends in the pair encouraging viewers to vote.

Tina Fey as Sarah Palin endorsing Donald Trump

It’s a safe bet: Tina Fey, being predictably batty as Sarah Palin. The most surprising thing is how little writing the sketch actually had. A lot of the strange things Fey’s Palin says are pretty much what the really Palin said. Yikes.

Hillary Clinton Bar Talk

With Kate McKinnon playing Hillary Clinton and the actual Hillary Clinton playing a bartender named Val, the sketch poked fun at the politician while still maintaining a sense of fun and optimism about the election.

Voters for Trump Ad

This faux advertisement featuring “voters” who support Trump is pretty sobering – after all, it centers on racism. It aired in March and, honestly, it’s kind of scary. (The necessary, motivate-you-to-vote kind of scary.)

A Hillary Christmas

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvSiH1eAF3s?feature=oembed

This hilarious sketch features Kate McKinnon’s Hillary Clinton being visited by her own ghost of Christmas past – Amy Poehler’s Hillary Clinton, that is. Oh, also, there’s Tina Fey as Sarah Palin. Of course.

Hillary and Bernie Cold Open

We couldn’t do this list without giving a nod to Larry David’s Bernie Sanders. Here he is, having a drink with Kate McKinnon’s Hillary Clinton. The pair reminisce about their experience running against each other for the Democratic candidacy. It’s a surprisingly sweet sketch, and ends in a hilarious dance through the studio.

BONUS: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton

Okay, this one isn’t from this year. But, it features Tina Fey as Sarah Palin (which you can guess is our favorite). Plus, it’s one of her and Amy Poehler’s best sketches. It’s also one of the best SNL election sketches of all time.
