Sarah Silverman reacted to ex-boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel’s recent emotional monologue

Need proof that celebrity exes can still be incredibly supportive of each other? Just look at Sarah Silverman and Jimmy Kimmel. The pair dated from 2002 to 2009, and while that’s a super long time in Hollywood, they hold no ill feelings towards each other. In fact, Silverman has appeared on Kimmel’s show a few times since they decided to call it quits.

So when Silverman opened up about Kimmel’s recent emotional monologue  — in which he talked about the complicated birth of his brand-new son — it makes sense that she was full of nothing but love and admiration.

(And in case you missed it, William “Billy” Kimmel was born last week with a congenital heart condition and needed to have surgery a few days after birth. Thankfully, everything seems to be okay now).

Entertainment Tonight reached out to Silverman at Hulu’s upfront presentation in New York, and her words are absolutely lovely.

"I loved his monologue," Silverman said. "I loved those last couple of minutes when he made a very bipartisan plea to keep funding things like children's hospitals, and the stuff that is getting cut right now is affecting children born with diseases. I thought he was beautiful and eloquent...My heart is with him and Molly."

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

This isn’t the first time that Silverman has said sweet things about Kimmel. Late last year, she mentioned she’ll always have feelings of love towards the host.

"We were together for so long and tried our best to make it work, she said. "I can think of him now and don’t have that edgy feeling anymore. I just love him to pieces."

We want to give our best to Kimmel, his wife Molly McNearney, and their brand new baby.
