Sarah Michelle Gellar honors her friend Robin Williams on the anniversary of his death

The world is collectively remembering Robin Williams today, on the anniversary of his death. It’s been two years since we lost Williams, but everything he embodied continues to thrive: his giving heart, his beautiful soul, his undying sense of humor, and his love for the family and friends who surrounded him.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is just one of the people who was deeply affected by her time with Williams.

Not only were they co-stars on the sitcom The Crazy Ones, but they also had a deep and beautiful friendship. With this in mind, today, Gellar paid tribute to Williams on Instagram with the sweetest message. She wrote (using a quote that’s been attributed to both Robin Williams and the composer Hector Berlioz):

“‘Time is the best teacher, but unfortunately, it kills all of its students’ #robinwilliams.”

One year ago today, Gellar posted a tribute of similar sentiment:

It’s clear that Williams will forever be missed by everyone in his life who loved him dearly, as well as those who loved him from afar.
