Sarah Hyland met her “Bachelorette” boyfriend on social media, because sometimes the DMs work

Remember when it was ~embarassing~ to meet your significant other online? In this day and age, it’s the only way to meet anybody. Whether it’s swiping, stalking, or sliding into a DM — meeting someone online is become more and more common. Sarah Hyland has recently gone public with her new boyfriend Wells Adams, who competed on JoJo Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette. Turns out they met this summer because Hyland had been Twitter-flirting with him.

Adams recently appeared on The Morning Breath talk show, where he was grilled about his new bae. When asked how they met, he simply said, “the internet — it’s amazing.” He then added the cryptic: “I’m amazed how smart the internet is. Because I just assume everyone on Twitter is an idiot, and then I’m like, ‘Wow!’”

We’re still parsing out what that even means. Adams’ fellow Bachelor-bud Ben Higgins broke down Adams and Hyland’s meet-cute on his podcast, saying, “Sarah saw interest in Wells, reached out to Wells, and Wells showed interest back.”

Easy peasy.

It’s true, Hyland had been tweeting at Adams as far back as 2016 when he was actually competing on The Bachelorette.

Her online flirtation with him was pretty cute.

Hyland took a break from tweeting at the reality star (probably because she had a boyfriend during that time) but hopped back on the timeline this summer when she learned that he was on Bachelor in Paradise.

Adams finally responded and it was off to the races.

And the rest they say, is history.

Kewt.
