Is Saoirse Ronan single? Here’s what she’s said about her relationship status

Saoirse Ronan is arguably the most-buzzed about actress in the world right now. Ronan is up for her first Oscar (and third nomination) for her standout performance in 2017’s Lady Bird, and despite previous roles in The Host, Atonement, and a slew of other movies, her star power has risen notably in the past year.

Obviously we are mostly focused on how talented this young woman is, but we can’t help but also wonder if Saoirse single. On the off-chance you think the only thing separating you from dating the beloved Irish actress is her relationship status, we have some good news for you: She seems to be!

In a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 23-year-old actress played an illuminating (and hilarious) game of “Who Would You Rather,” suggesting that she isn’t dating anyone at the moment.

“You’re not dating anyone right now?” Ellen posed.

"No... I mean, I don't know how to date," Saoirse answered. "I don't date. I'm not into the whole, 'Let's go out for dinner.' See, I don't even know how to talk about it."

That said, she does have a super rational approach to dating: She couldn’t date Harry Styles because he would be on the road too much, or Jamie Dornan because he’s married, though Zac Efron would be a good “companion” due to his propensity to sing and dance. (Oh, and she has a definite thing for Harry Potter — though she didn’t clarify if it’s book-version or movie-version Harry).

We’ll be watching the Oscar’s to see what strapping Gryffindor she brings as her date!
