Sophie Turner talks about how Sansa really felt during that satisfying moment in “Battle of the Bastards”

Three cheers for Sansa Stark, the the true badass heroine of the North. Spoilers ahead for Game of Throne’s latest episode, “The Battle of the Bastards.” 

After six seasons of just having the worst day ever, Sansa can finally put something in her “WIN” category. Though Jon Snow was the one to deliver the start of the Ramsay Bolton beat down, it was Sansa who finished him off once and for all — and she didn’t even lift a finger to do so! In the final moments of the episode, Sansa turned Ramsay’s own hounds on him, slowly, and quite painfully, killing him.

“It’s so great to be able to have my first kill,” the badass lady behind Sansa, Sophie Turner, explained to Entertainment Weekly. “I was loving the idea of Jon killing Ramsay. But then I was like, no, Sansa needs her first kill and it has to be Ramsay. No one else but her. And when he basically says, ‘He’s yours.’ I’m like, ‘Yes!’ She leaves him for dead, walks away doesn’t even watch him die. It’s such a great scene.”

As to how this death differs from her first husband’s death — RIP Joffrey — the turmoil that Ramsay put her through was like comparing apples and oranges.

“With Joffrey it was different. He was a little boy and he was so angry at her all the time. Whereas with Ramsay there would be serenity, and then he would be such a bastard – in every sense of the word…He’s imprinted on her, mentally and physically. She can never get that part of her back again.”

At least in the end, he gets what’s coming to him, and it’s all because of Sansa. She was the one who sent for help to completely save Jon and his men, and as Turner puts it, “she…[saves] the day. But she doesn’t really gets her thanks. Her reward is killing Ramsay.”

Oh yes. Things are most certainly starting to look up for Sansa Stark.
