Sansa’s hair in the “Game of Thrones” premiere could signal something significant, and you probably missed it

We’re so glad that we’ve returned to Westeros and that Game of Thrones is back, and of course we’re going to obsess over theories and speculation. Take, for example, Sansa’s hair in the Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere.

Last month Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, revealed some pretty important information about her character’s hair. Speaking to Refinery29, the 21-year-old actor said that there was nothing accidental about how her hair looked on the popular HBO fantasy drama. Every hairstyle had a meaning.

“Sansa’s hair is constantly reflecting the people she’s learning from, or mimicking, or inspired by at the time,” she said to Refinery29. “When she’s Cersei’s prisoner, and she’s kind of absorbing all her manipulative techniques, it’s reflected in her hairstyle, and when she’s finding the spirit of Margaery in herself, she wears her hair like Margaery.”

Now, you might wonder why we’re bringing this all up again.

Well, it seems that during the Season 7 premiere of Game of Thrones, Sansa’s hair may have actually given us some clues as to what might happen.

While some might just stack this up to mise-en-scène, eagle-eyed fans have pointed out that Sansa’s hair looks exactly like Cersei’s a few seasons ago.

Even more telling is that, during the episode, Jon Snow accused his “half-sister” of admiring the now Queen of the Three Seven Kingdoms.

As The Huffington Post pointed out, this all seems a little too coincidental for it to not be connected. Indeed, it appears that Sansa and Jon will — shall we say — disagree on how the North should be run at some point, if the first episode was anything to go by. But could we be about to see her take a leaf out of Cersei’s book and manipulate things from behind the scenes? Is that what the look between her and Little Finger was all about?

All of this makes us extremely nervous about what could be in store for the eldest Stark daughter. Hopefully, she won’t go full Cersei, who appears to have pretty much lost any sense of moral compass she had.
