Samantha Pleet’s newest collection for spring is summertime nostalgia at its finest

Was there really anything more magical than the summer breaks of our youth? We don’t think so, and according to Samantha Pleat’s latest collection, she doesn’t seem to think so either. With plenty of feminine frills and delectable pastels, this collection merges childhood nostalgia with a dreamy sensibility, ending in a collection that will make anyone feel the same warm fuzziness that comes with eating watermelon in mid-August. Off-the-shoulder floral dresses, rompers in fresh-picked citrus hues and jumpsuits in shades of summer grass all help to define the collection, entitled “Midsummer Dream.”

When asked about the inspo for her new collection, Pleet, who just became a mom to daughter Valentine, told HelloGiggles:

"I was designing spring while pregnant with Valentine, craving watermelons, coconut water, and listening to that Nancy Sinatra song "Strawberry Wine." That is why this collection turned out so luscious."

This collection feels like the flower child who never grew out of her nature-loving ways. Instead, she found inspiration among a variety of blooms, ’70s silhouettes and earthy-toned neutrals.

With a childlike innocence and playfulness backing this presentation, Samantha Pleet has managed to find the sweet spot between grown up and young at heart.

But really, who doesn’t love a matching set with coordinated clogs?! Pair the top with a denim mini skirt or the bottoms with a crocheted top for some extra summer of ’69 vibes.

Wide-leg cropped denim, a simple ruffle blouse, and a pair of clogs feel like the perfect summer outfit to eat a popsicle in. Pair with a bold and colorful pair of earrings to up the ante.

If this doesn’t scream “summertime lemonade” we don’t know what does. We love feeling the summertime nostalgia, and now we have Samantha Pleet to thank.
