Who is Samantha Grant, aka Meghan Markle’s controversial half-sister?
Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry is approaching fast, which means that planning is in full swing. Details from the wedding florist to the list of lucky attendees have emerged, and we’re so excited for the next royal wedding. But not everyone is happy with the couple’s choices about their wedding day. Most recently, Markle’s half-sister, Samantha Grant, expressed outrage that she wasn’t on the guest list. But who is Grant?
Yesterday, April 12th, Fox News reported that the 52-year-old Grant posted a photo of a family tree claiming that the Markles are 15th cousins of the royal family and that it would be “highly inappropriate” not to invite them. (Grant’s Twitter account is set to private.)
Grant, who has the same father as Markle, is a former actress and model who currently lives in Florida with her partner. And when it comes to the royal wedding, she is the most outspoken of the Markle family. In December 2017, when the prince remarked that the British royal family was the family Markle “never had,” Grant was quick to call him out, tweeting that Markle had always had “a large family.” false
And in an appearance on Nine News Australia in February, Grant said that she felt Markle wasn’t doing enough to help their father.
"Honestly, what she could spend in a weekend would greatly help Dad, so that should be a priority," she said.

But Grant has also said that she and her half-sister were close growing up, although People reported they haven’t seen each other in more than 10 years. She is publishing a book about Markle, titled, The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister. (Okay.) Grant told the Daily Mail that the book’s name was “a mockery of the media” and insisted that it will be a positive portrayal.

"It wasn’t me who called Meg “pushy," it was the tabloid newspapers. She is not pushy," Grant told the Mail. "The book isn’t going to be negative — it’s a warm, witty, honoring book — unfortunately, the negative sing-song has gone round the world."
Regardless of what Grant’s relationship with Markle is like now, we hope that she will embrace her half-sister’s marriage. In the meantime, we’ll be looking forward to the next royal wedding, which is sure to be beautiful.
