Salma Hayek shared a makeup-free selfie to show she’s “proud” of her naturally graying hair
Salma Hayek is 52-years-young and damn proud of her gray hairs. The actress posted a gorgeous makeup-free selfie to Instagram on Sunday, February 3rd, 2019 that showed her natural hair, which has beautiful silver stands running throughout. She captioned the photo simply with “proud of my white hair.” Hayek has always had a lovely no-bullshit approach to aging and told The New York Times in 2017 that “one of the reasons I don’t dye my hair is because I don’t have the patience to sit through it. I don’t want to spend what’s left of my youth pretending I’m younger and then not enjoying life.”
Can we get an actual “amen” for that?
She also told The Edit in 2017 (via ET Online) that one of the worst parts of aging is losing her eyesight, which is interesting, considering how many people are more concerned with eye wrinkles than their literal eyesight.
"The worst part of the aging process has been my eyes, she told the online publication. “Not the wrinkles—the eyes themselves. I’m such a visual person and (now) I cannot read without depending on glasses...It has been really, really sad.
Hayek has always been vocal about aging—specifically aging in Hollywood—which is refreshing because so many of us learn to be ashamed of the things our bodies naturally do when we age. We stan a confident queen who just doesn’t have time for the mainstream media’s beauty myth nonsense.
