Sally Field’s son finally met Adam Rippon IRL, and this is what happiness feels like
Adam Rippon made a lot of headlines during the 2018 Winter Olympics, but we really have to give an honorary gold medal to Sally Field, whose less-than-subtle Twitter matchmaking attempt between Rippon and her son, Sam Greisman, went viral in February. Less than a month later, the internet gods have blessed us, because Rippon and Sally Field’s son *actually* met IRL!
This totally proves that moms have magic power, right?
After Greisman texted his mom about his crush on the Olympic figure skater, Field tagged Rippon in a screenshot of their conversation on Twitter. And, okay, she basically gave the internet a sympathy panic attack (even though we loved it). However, her son took it like a champ, and Rippon — after hearing about the exchange — definitely didn’t seem to mind the setup attempt.
“She bold,” Rippon said, referring to Sally Field in an interview with BuzzFeed. “Sam, your mom — I admire her. And I’m sure one day we’re going to meet! So thanks, mom.”
And he was right. Rippon and Greisman finally met on Saturday, March 10th, at the 2018 Human Rights Campaign Gala in Los Angeles, where Rippon was honored with the organization’s Visibility Award. Congratulations aside, we cannot contain our joy. Because, honestly, who expects being embarrassed by their mom to actually result in a meet-cute like this?!
Greisman tweeted a photo of himself and Rippon with the caption “Thanks, mom,” and it’s basically a Disney-worthy fairytale ending.

Being related to Sally Field *definitely* pays off.
As it turns out, dreams do come true. And now we need to make a list of wishes, just in case Sally Field wants to be our fairy godmother. Can she help us become friends with the entire cast of Black Panther, please?
