Sabrina the teenage witch and Morticia Addams teamed up for this scary movie
What would you get if you took Sabrina, the teenage witch, and Morticia Addams, and threw them into a scary movie together? You’d get The Watcher in the Woods, of course. Melissa Joan Hart isn’t just a teenage witch — now, she’s also a director who’s helping to remake the 1980s cult classic for a new generation.
But one doesn’t just forget their witchy ways, which is clear from the fact that Anjelica Huston, aka Morticia Addams, will be starring in the Lifetime film as well.
It may not be the ’90s anymore, but it sure will be easier to pretend it is thanks to this film.

The Watcher in the Woods is originally based off a 1976 novel, with a Disney movie following in the ’80s. In the new version, Anjelica Houston plays the role of Mrs. Alywood, a woman whose daughter disappears in the woods of the English Countryside. 20 years later, a new family moves in next door and some creepy and unexplained things start to happen.
This version of the macabre tale is a darker take than the original novel. And since two of entertainment’s most-famous otherworldly icons are involved, we have a feeling it will live up to the hype. Although this isn’t Melissa’s first directing stint (she also directed Lifetime’s The Santa Con), we’re excited to see her doing something Sabrina would have been totally into.

Sadly, we’ll have to wait until October 21st to watch it, but we’re pumped that we already have a scary movie to watch this Halloween season. May the countdown to the best time of year officially begin!
