Ryan Reynolds made a sick boy’s superhero dreams come true

Ryan Reynolds is currently filming his new movie Deadpool, in which he plays the often-mischievous comic book hero of the same name. He’s shared a few Instagrams from the set so far, including a look at the stunt work, but his latest Instagram share is seriously heartwarming. Reynolds was recently joined by super fan Tony Acevedo, a young boy battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Reynolds took time out of shooting the film to hang out with Tony and snap a few pictures. He also let Tony try on his mask and gloves, and practice his own superhero moves!

“I wasn’t expecting him to sneak the mask, put on the gloves, smile… and then beat Deadpool about the face, arms and jugular with blazing speed,” the caption on Reynolds’ Instagram post about the day reads.

The trip was organized by the Make-A-Wish Foundation after Tony said his wish was to meet Deadpool himself. We’re so glad Tony got to have that wish come true, and that he got to spend some time with his favorite hero!
