Ryan Reynolds dished on why he thought “Green Lantern” wasn’t successful

Actor and producer Ryan Reynolds just got candid about why Green Lantern wasn’t successful, and we’re all ears. But this isn’t the first time Ryan let us in on industry deets. The actor also recently shared that he flopped during an audition with the Coen brothers, proving that he’s totally not perfect either. The husband and father of two always dishes the truth no matter how embarrassing it may be. And we respect him so much for it.

Ryan gave Entertainment Weekly the real story on why he thoughtGreen Lantern wasn’t successful, especially when comparing it to Deadpool.

"Well, it's simple: Deadpool always knew what it was," Ryan shares with Entertainment Weekly. "With Green Lantern, I don't think anyone ever figured out exactly what it was. That isn't to say the hundreds of men and women didn't work their fingers to the bone to make it as good as possible. It also fell victim to the process in Hollywood which is like poster first, release date second, script last."

Ryan then went on to say that while it totally didn’t go as planned, he acknowledges that the 2011 flick was still a huge for him.

He added, "At the time, it was a huge opportunity for me so I was excited to try and take part in it."

There’s no better feeling than when you can be 100 percent honest with yourself. And, we totally understand where he’s coming from.
