Today in amazing: Sarah Paulson and Ryan Murphy are heading to Netflix with a new series

Sound the alarm bells, because Ryan Murphy and Sarah Paulson will soon bless us with yet another television project — and this one is Netflix bound, according to Deadline. The pair have, of course, collaborated on American Horror Story and American Crime Story.
Now, Murphy and Paulson are teaming up once more for Ratched.
The prequel series will star Paulson as the titular, infamous, villainous nurse from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
"Ratched is an origin story, beginning in 1947, which will follow Ratched’s (Paulson) journey and evolution from nurse to full-fledged monster," Deadline writes. "The series will track her murderous progression through the mental health care system."
The series was created by newcomer Evan Romansky and is expected to begin production in mid-2018. Murphy and Michael Douglas will executive produce, with Paulson producing — along with a handful of others. Murphy will also direct the first episode.
Though the series is in very early stages, it’s already landed a *huge* deal.
That deal being a two-season, 18-episode, straight-to-series order at the streaming behemoth. Yowza! But, we totally get it, because RYAN MURPHY AND SARAH PAULSON, AKA THE DREAM TEAM. The deal also marks Murphy’s first foray into streaming and let’s keep this going — please and thank you.
Nurse Ratched was previously played by Louise Fletcher in 1975’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, which is based on a novel of the same name by Ken Kesey. Fletcher won the Oscar for Best Actress, and the film won Best Picture — along with a few other wins.
With Murphy and Paulson together again, we wouldn’t be surprised if Ratched took home some wins, too. And we can’t wait to hear more about the project in the meantime.
