Ryan Murphy is working on a season of “American Crime Story” about the Monica Lewinsky scandal

Prolific TV writer and producer Ryan Murphy is bringing the Monica Lewinsky scandal to an upcoming season of American Crime Story.

Despite the fact that he’s just announced more seasons of American Horror Story (the next of which, thankfully, is set to star Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson), Ryan Murphy also revealed that the second season of American Crime Story had been delayed until 2018. What’s more, the showrunner extraordinaire has a brand new show, Feud, focusing on the legendary feud between Hollywood icons Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, which is set to air in March on FX. Basically, Murphy is one busy guy!

However, it seems that Ryan Murphy’s creativity knows no bounds, as he’s already working on a fourth season season of American Crime Story.

While the popular serial’s third season is set for focus on the 1997 murder of Gianni Versace, Murphy has already started work on the show’s fourth outing set to focus on the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, Murphy is set to adapt Jeffrey Toobin’s book A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President (Toobin also penned the book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson, which the first season of American Crime Season is based off).

Sources have told THR that the season is being fast tracked, with producers and Murphy already on the hunt to find actors to portray Monica Lewinsky and her college Linda Tripp, the woman who recorded the conversations about Lewinsky’s alleged affair with Bill Clinton, who was at the time the President of the United States. While we were initially devastated that American Crime Story had been delayed, it seems that Ryan Murphy is making up for it by pre-planning three upcoming seasons of the show. And, we’ve got Feud to keep us enthralled and obsessed until American Horror Story returns, too.
