Russell Brand just revealed the name of his baby daughter, and we dig it!
Celebrity baby names are basically our favorite topic ever, and according to BabyCenter Blog, Russell Brand has a surprisingly cute name pick for his daughter! ICYMI, he and fiancé Laura Gallacher welcomed the new addition to their family this week (she gave birth right after one of his stand-up gigs. NBD!)
So…IT’S MABEL!
It’s not on the most popular baby names of 2016 or the 20 most unique celeb baby names from the past year. It’s kinda old-timey actually, and you wouldn’t really expect that from someone new-agey like Brand.
Yet, we’ve gotta say…we dig their unusual choice. The couple are pretty private so you won’t see any pics of Mabel on Brand’s Insta (YET), but we’re super excited for them!
Brand has said that he plans to raise Mabel in a gender-neutral way and let her figure out who she is for herself, which we heart even more. It’s also adorable how he’s been reading books about fatherhood to mentally prepare, and we know he’s going to be a great (and ridiculously fun) father to baby Mabel.
"I don’t know that it has prepared me for it. I’ve painted the room, I’ve done the things that you’re supposed to do, I’ve accepted the idea that that person will be more important than me," he told The Sun.
Awwwww. Huge congrats, guys! Welcome to the world, Mabel!
