Rupert Grint said what he’d use a Time-Turner to change about his time as Ron Weasley
In 2018, when Ron Weasley shows up to his Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry 20th reunion, there is one small thing he’d like to address. In between swapping stories about herbology lessons and Quidditch, he’d like to reminisce about his hair. If he could go back and time and change one thing, it’d be that.
This past weekend, four former Hogwarts alumni — Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, and James and Oliver Phelps — found themselves at Canada’s Fan Expo in Toronto. They gathered together for a Hogwarts reunion of course, and talked about only important things. Like, if given a Time-Turner, what would they go back in time and change?
For Grint, that’s an easy thing for him to answer. He wants to change his hair from the Fourth Year.
Need a Fourth Year refresher? Ron had one floppy hairstyle.
It was just…. very long. And kinda unkept. In Ron’s defense, Harry Potter had the same long, wavy-floppy hair and it’s surprising that Hermione didn’t cast some sort of spell on it while the two boys weren’t looking to trim it down a little bit.
As much as he might want to go back in time and change this hairstyle, Grint can’t do that for Ron. For one, time travel doesn’t exist in our muggle world yet. And two, the supply of Time-Turners at the Ministry of Magic was destroyed. Or, while everyone was racing through the Department of Mysteries in Order of the Phoenix, the Time-Turners were knocked over and fell into an endless cycle of falling, and re-falling, again and again for all eternity, and they can’t be rescued.
So you’re stuck with that hairstyle in Goblet of Fire forever, Ron.
