RuPaul said people opposing LGBTQ rights were “obsolete,” and we kinda agree

Legendary drag queen and iconic reality TV host RuPaul has called those opposing LGBTQ rights “obsolete,” and tbh we couldn’t agree more with him.

It looks like the remainder of this month is going to be *all* about RuPaul. The iconic drag queen’s reality tv show, RuPaul’s Drag Race is returning on March 24th for its ninth season, and we were even gifted a small teaser to Lady Gaga’s cameo in the season premiere. It looks SICKENING. We can’t wait to fire up the popcorn machine, settling down, and get our lives to all the new queens who are vying for title of America’s Next Drag Superstar.

Of course, RuPaul’s Drag Race is all about inclusivity and spreading love, so it’s no surprise that RuPaul would have some choice words for people opposed to LGBTQ rights.

After being accosted by TMZ, Ru was quizzed about how he was feeling following the Supreme Court’s decision to demote Gavin Grimm’s landmark transgender case.

"Our best defence is our brightness, our love, and our ability to have a spirit and dance," RuPaul said. "That’s what we’re teaching kids to do. We are moving forward into a place where the human race is expanding. The people who are against this kind of thing, they’re stuck in the 20th century. You know, God bless them, but we’re moving this way, they want to go backwards. "They're obsolete and they know it, and this is their last ditch effort."

RuPaul then went on to give his advice to how to challenge bigotry.

"We as humans are moving forward, and until then our best defence is to dance, sing, and get excited about life," he said.

RuPaul recently appeared on Good Morning America to promote the upcoming season of Drag Race where he also spoke about spreading love and the importance of the show.

“In the political culture right now, the fact that we get to show that love is strong…We are Americans and we believe in open hearts and love. We believe in love and we believe in acceptance,” he said.

We couldn’t agree more!
