Rumer Willis just celebrated six months of sobriety, and we’re so happy for her
In an Instagram post shared yesterday (July 2nd), Rumer Willis has revealed she’s six months sober, and we’re sending her all our congratulations!
The 28-year-old daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis has appeared in TV shows such as 90210 and Dancing with the Stars, in which she won the reality dancing competition. Yet, it’s her latest achievement that she’s super proud of now.
Uploading a selfie, Willis shared her news with her followers.
“I will be the first one to say I’m not perfect and I mess up sometimes and every once in a while I get it right but I wanted to share this because I am really proud of myself,” she wrote.
"Yesterday I celebrated 6 Months of Sobriety. It's not something I planned on but after the long journey of getting here I can honestly say I have never been more proud of myself in my entire life."

Finally, the performer and actor wrote how thankful she was for all those who had supported her, before giving some pretty sage advice.
“Thank you all for the love and support and remember to be gentle with yourself ?,” she wrote.
Later, Willis shared a pretty rad picture of herself rocking a baby blue bathing suit, captioning the picture, “Blue is the Warmest Color ???.”

This isn’t the first time that Rumer Willis has opened up about some of the things she experienced in her life. The star has previously hit out against her body being photoshopped, and in 2015, after winning Dancing with the Stars, she shared how, after harsh public criticism, she became her own worst bully.
“What it comes down to is this: We all need to stop bullying ourselves and being cruel to other women,” she wrote in an essay for Glamour. “Attacking one another instead of supporting one another has become the norm. Life’s hard enough as it is. Let’s find strength in the fact that we’re different and unique. Let’s allow ourselves to say, ‘These are my flaws, but I’m still beautiful.’ Let’s find our own value, know what we have to offer—and know that that is enough.”

These are some seriously powerful words to live by, and they stand true and strong today.
What’s more, we couldn’t be happier and more proud of Willis for reaching this milestone in her journey to sobriety, and we’re sending her all our best wishes, positive thoughts, and congratulations. She totally deserves to be, and should be, proud of herself!
