Because Rudolph’s message rings true all year

Everybody knows about Rudolph — even mermaids.

This month is associated with Santa Claus, elves, and of course, reindeer. But one holiday character’s story stands out from the rest, and it’s Rudolph’s.

We may think that we understand stories from our childhood, but when we re-read them we may notice something we didn’t before. For instance, Rudolph’s story reminds me that being different doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. Because it’s your differences that make you, well, you. (And mermaids love being different.)

It’s time to begin your 2018 by being proud of who you are — even if it means having to wear a red nose all year long. Hope you swim by next week!
