Ruby Rose just got real about her “healthy” and “feminist” sex life, and we’re here for it

Your number one crush since approximately 2k15, Ruby Rose, is speaking out about her sexuality for her first Cosmopolitan mag cover in the brave, breezy way we’ve come to expect from the outspoken, badass xXx: Return of Xander Cage star.

And we wouldn’t have her any other way.

“I’m very confident and in tune with my sexuality,” Rose revealed for the mag’s “Badass Babes” March issue, set to hit newsstands on February 7th. “I feel very blessed for that, because in different places around the world, people can’t be.

I'm lucky I can explore. I have a very healthy sex life, and there's something very empowering, strong, and feminist about being open and comfortable in that world."

For what it’s worth, she’s right. With women’s reproductive freedoms and LGBTQIA rights currently in doubt in the freaking United States — which is, you know, supposedly the cultural center of the free world — it’s increasingly important for stars with Rose’s power and influence to stand up for what’s right and argue for representation. As a genderfluid queer person who has found rare success in Hollywood, Rose has a unique platform, and we’re so proud of her for doing whatever is in her power to normalize the “Q” in LGBTQIA.

“There are things that I’m always going to be very vocal about, like LGBTQ and animal rights,” she explained. “I have a platform and I can open up a dialogue, but I also know that I’m just an actor. I’m just another person with an opinion no better than anyone else’s opinion. I don’t overanalyze. I just write from the heart, post it, and hope for the best. Then I move on.”

Rose, who is currently dating Jess Origliasso of The Veronicas, also shared her thoughts on getting married.

“According to the news, I’ve been engaged five times,” she quipped. “For me, marriage is more about equal rights than the act of getting married. When you don’t have equal rights, it trickles down to kids who think, ‘My aunt’s gay so she can’t get married,’ or ‘I’m weird because I feel the same way.’ So it’s important to break down that barrier. I’m more interested in having a loving, healthy, long-term relationship with someone I might want to have kids with someday.”

Damn straight, Ruby. Thank you for always being you.
