Ruby Rose had the best response to a tabloid that wrote about her acne

Even celebrities have to deal with skin issues — it’s all part of being human. Ruby Rose defended her acne after a tabloid decided to rip her appearance apart during the Australian premiere for Pitch Perfect 3, which will be out in America on December 22nd.

Through her social media accounts, Rose made sure to note that her acne “belongs to me, not them.” She also made a point in saying that it’s nothing that should bring shame, especially since it’s such a common condition.

She discussed the acne in more detail, saying that “I don’t see how it’s bothering so many others? But I’m a human. It happens. One side of my face is clear and the other side is a mess.” She said that her dermatologist blamed the breakout on phone interviews she did for Pitch Perfect 3, along with a reaction to hotel pillow cases — which is something we can all relate to.

It’s a shame that tabloids tried to make her feel bad about it, as she only proved that acne is something that often can’t be avoided. No matter what, the star looked beautiful, proving that even blemishes can’t take away from natural beauty.

Even though she shouldn’t have to address it, we’re glad she did.

Tabloids also decided to discuss her weight, which is nothing new for Rose. Throughout her career, she’s seen claims that she’s “too thin,” with many suggestion she has an eating disorder. Rose figured this was the perfect time to address those concerns, saying “It is very important to know what an eating disorder is, to know how to speak about it properly when you have such a platform such as a national newspaper.”

We’re glad that Rose decided to defend herself, as well as open up communication on how these accusations are more serious than many tabloids may believe. Hopefully more sources will start talking about her work as an actress, instead of putting so much focus on her appearance.
