This new personality quiz from the Myers-Briggs Company will tell you where you should travel next
Is it just us, or does the winter always make traveling seem more tempting than usual? Cold weather, which we’ve certainly had our fair share of, makes everyone feel ready to escape to somewhere new and exciting. But as fun as it is to plan a trip, it can also be intimidating. Not only are there hundreds of places to choose from (should you absorb culture in Europe or relax on an island beach?), but figuring out what to do once you pick a spot can be overwhelming. Fortunately, indecisive travelers are in luck! Royal Caribbean has partnered with The Myers-Briggs Company to create a personality quiz that will help you plan your dream vacation. And yes, it’s as cool as it sounds.
For anyone who is unfamiliar, The Myers-Briggs Company is responsible for the Myers-Briggs personality test. The original test is based on Jungian psychology and uses a series of questions to determine what kind of personality you have. This information can then help you figure out anything from what kind of person you should date to which scent you should wear. It’s known for being scarily accurate, so when they say “new test,” we listen.
In this case, the quiz created in partnership with Royal Caribbean is a whole lot shorter than the original test. It’s only 13 questions long and can be found on MyAdventurePersonality.com. It takes only a few moments to get through, and the results will give you some helpful vacation ideas from where to go to what to do once you’re there. Even if you’re a seasoned traveler, you might receive suggestions you haven’t thought of before. It’s an easy way to open your mind.

This isn’t just your typical internet personality quiz that you see all over Facebook, either.
The Myers-Briggs Company uses science and psychology to put together question and answer options that give you some real insight into what you want. According to Royal Caribbean, the quiz “specifically assesses a person’s underlying motivations and interpersonal needs that most affect their travel preferences.”
The test might seem like an unnecessary step in figuring out your next vacation — why not just pick something basic? — but it could point you in a direction you wouldn’t have thought of on your own. Jeff Hayes, CEO, CPP-The Myers-Briggs Company, says:
"Vacations are one of the few times in life we're truly allowed to focus on ourselves, so the more we know about our own personality type, the more relaxing and fun we can make them."
If you’re interested in checking it out, you might want to do it sooner rather than later. The quiz will be available until March. And good news: this time of year is considered “Wave Season” in the cruise industry because it’s when the best offers are available for the upcoming year. So if your result inspires you to book something, you just might save a little cash. We see what you did there, Royal Caribbean.
