J.K. Rowling just expertly dissed Donald Trump’s campaign with a “Harry Potter” reference
J.K. Rowling might not be eligible to vote in the upcoming Presidential Election (because of that whole, “being a citizen” thing), but she sure does pay close attention to United States politics. She’s got something to say about every candidate, and when it comes to Donald Trump, Rowling could probably write a seven volume series. That’s good news for us, not so good news for Trump.
Knowing that, it should come as no surprise that when the quick-witted Rowling can get in jab at the current presidential candidate, she’s going to take it.
Last year, after someone compared Trump to Voldemort, Rowling was like, “no guys, Trump is worse.” Now, she’s once again bringing Voldemort into the mix, by calling out one of his aids as being a Death Eater. Really! Only Rowling can get away with calling someone a Death Eater on Twitter, because she invented Death Eaters.
Trump’s campaign spokeswoman, Katrina Pierson (she’s the woman who wore the bullet necklace on CNN, not a joke), tweeted something not-cool back in 2012. 2012 was four years ago, but Rowling happened to come across the tweet earlier today, whether by her own means or Time Turner. And since we’re all always looking for ways to make a Harry Potter reference, including Rowling, she tweeted back at Pierson.
Did that… did that really just happen?
It did. We all witnessed it with our own eyes. And listen, if Rowling says you’re a Death Eater, you’re probably a Death Eater, JUST SAYING.
So what have we learned here? If Rowling doesn’t like you, she’ll comb through your entire Twitter archive until she’s found a golden opportunity for well-placed HP reference. We’ve all been warned.
