To the surprise of literally no one, “Roseanne” has already been renewed for Season 2 — sorry, Season *11*

Today in totally unsurprising news… Just three days after the blockbuster debut of the Roseanne revival, ABC has already given the green light for a second season — okay, *eleventh* if you want to get technical.

The hour-long Roseanne special clinched a 5.1 rating among adults aged 18 to 49 and 18.1 million viewers in just one night, which is an impressive feat for any show, much less one that had been off the air for more than two decades. Counting in delayed viewing stats, the opener garnered an additional 3.4 million viewers, bringing the total to a whopping 21.89 million.

"We’re thrilled that America has welcomed the Conner family back into their homes," Channing Dungey, ABC Entertainment president, said in a statement. "The show is as fresh and relevant today as it was when it left the air 21 years ago. We can’t wait to see what the Roseanne team has in store for next year."

While the Roseanne revival was welcomed with open arms, it did spark a few controversies, and prompted political debates.

Like Roseanne Barr, Roseanne Conner is a vocal Trump supporter, to the dismay of (some) audiences and critics alike. Many believe that it’s tarnishing the legacy the show built for nine years, because it seemingly misrepresents middle America and crosses the dangerous line of depicting and supporting the current administration’s agenda.

Plus, it’s not helping that Trump has apparently already taken credit for the reboot’s massive success. (We’ll see if he takes credit for the renewal…)

All things considered, it’s more important than ever to be an active and critical viewer, and really engage with the ideas the show presents. After all, we can’t ignore the fact that a second eleventh season is already underway; that definitely says a lot.

Until Season 11, we’ll be watching Roseanne Season 10, which airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
