David and Darlene *finally* reunite in the new “Roseanne” promo, and the revival can’t premiere soon enough

During the run-up to the revival, we’ve been catching up with *all* our favorite Roseanne characters, but there’s been one character who’s been largely absent the whole time. Due to Johnny Galecki’s commitment with The Big Bang TheoryRoseanne fans have been left wondering what that means for David Healy, Galecki’s character on Roseanne.

It was confirmed a few months ago that Galecki would play a small role in the revival and in a brand new promo for the series, David makes his grand return to the Conner house in Lanford, Illinois.

“They kept everything exactly the same as it was when you guys were kids,” David says to Darlene in the promo of the Conner’s unchanged home. She dryly responds with, “It’s a decorating choice called poverty.”

The new season of Roseanne finds Darlene (Sara Gilbert) moving back into the iconic Conner home with her parents — Roseanne (Roseanne Barr) and the very much alive Dan (John Goodman) — along with her and David’s two kids. Based on the small exchange in the trailer and Galecki’s lack of availability — in addition to TBBT, he’s also executive producing a new CBS series, Living Biblically — thing’s *aren’t* looking great for Darlene and David.

But as one of the most iconic teen couples in late ’80s and ’90s sitcoms, we’re seriously rooting for them.

While Galecki is only returning for one episode of the revival, he said during the Television Critics Association winter press tour that if the revival was to continue, he’d totally be on board for more. He said, “If they come back next year for another eight or nine I would love to do more than one next year.”

Original cast members Laurie Metcalf, Lecy Goranson, Michael Fishman, and Sarah Chalke are also returning for the revival while Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara, and Jayden Rey are joining the cast as the Conner grandkids.

Roseanne is set to premiere on March 27th!
