Rose Leslie made Kit Harington cosplay as Jon Snow for a party, because she is the best

If anyone felt bad when Game of Thrones‘ Kit Harington pranked Rose Leslie with a terrifying model of his own severed head that he left in their refrigerator for her to find, you’ll be glad to know that Leslie is not afraid to get him back and pull a prank of her own.

Harington recently revealed his now-fiancée once forced him to dress up as Jon Snow for a costume party (or as the Brits call it, a “fancy dress party.”)

The actor told the British gossip magazine Heat per The Daily Mail that the couple was browsing at a local costume shop when the woman who worked there came up to him and said, “You know, you really look like the guy from Game of Thrones, and I’ve got a Game of Thrones outfit.”

“She pulled out a Jon Snow costume, and Rose just whispered in my ear, ‘I won’t love you if you don’t wear it…You should do it,” he recounted.

We bet Leslie had some real life LOLs that evening, as Harington was forced to mingle with guests wearing not the actual beautiful costume from the show, but some kind of faux fur/leather getup. (We also hope a totally fake-looking wig like this one was involved too.)

And if that wasn’t awkward enough, the party’s theme was “bad taste,” as in their fellow party-goers were probably thinking, “it’s totally in bad taste to come dressed up as your own character from a TV show!”

“It was really embarrassing,” Harington admitted. “The people bringing around canapés were looking at me, thinking, ‘You sad man! You’ve come to a party dressed as your character.’”

While it’s not unheard of for an actor to show up in public dressed as their most famous character, it’s usually done for a charitable or promotional reason. Remember when Johnny Depp surprised young fans when he showed up as Captain Jack Sparrow at a Vancouver hospital, or when Bryan Cranston cosplayed as Walter White at Comic-Con?

Meanwhile, Harington attending a non-Game of Thrones related party dressed as Jon Snow served no point at all except to amuse his soon-to-be wife! And we think that’s pretty funny.

Here’s hoping that the couple have more pranks in store for each other leading up to their wedding. As far as we know they haven’t set a date, but we’re thinking a winter wedding, perhaps?
